Some common questions answered
What does temp-to-perm mean?
Some companies like the option of seeing how new staff settle in before committing to a permanent role. Under this arrangement the company engages your services through TeamJobs but the intention is that they will transfer you onto a permanent employment contract when they are happy you are a long term option. This is generally after 3 months but can be longer in some circumstances. It is similar to having a probabtion period when you start a new permanent role and is your chance to show your new employer that you are the right choice for them.
What is the difference between temporary and permanent roles?
A temporary role is where a company requires a member of staff for a short period, for example a labourer to help for 4 weeks unloading at a warehouse. A temporary member of staff is under a contract for services and is paid their wages by the employment agency direct. There is no obligation from either party on the duration of the assignment under this arrangement. A permanent role is where a company requires a permanent employee at their business whom they will employ directly under an employment contract.
